The LaHaye Ice Center opened in January 2006 due to funds generously donated by Drs. Tim and Beverly LaHaye. The LaHayes have been friends and supporters of Liberty University (LU) for years and also donated the LaHaye Student Center located across from the LaHaye Ice Center on the campus of Liberty University.

The LaHaye Ice Center, managed by the Rink Management Corporation, the number one rink management company in the nation, services the student body of Liberty University, and is also home to the Liberty University ACHA Division I Hockey team which plays opponents such as Penn State, Iowa State, Rhode Island and Illinois. The Ice Center holds up to 3,000 fans at the Flames home games.

Although the LaHaye Ice Center is centrally located on the campus of Liberty University, it is utilized greatly by the community. The LaHaye Ice Center offers a variety of skating activities, which include public skating and learn to skate lessons, where all skate levels are welcome.

There are many ways to enjoy ice hockey as well, from being a Liberty Flames Hockey spectator in a crowd of up to 3,000, to playing in a hockey league, stick ‘n puck, or a clinic. Ice fans can also reserve the ice for private skate lessons, group rentals, birthday parties, and more.

We offer learn to skate group lessons from tots thru adult.  Our learn to skate and figure skating lessons are Ice Skating Institute (ISI) www.skateisi.com programs which are designed for the recreational ice skater.  The LaHaye Ice Center also hosts the Lynchburg Figure Skating Club.
